Executive Search

NZA New Zealand Auckland

For our client NZA New Zealand Auckland, a renowned men’s fashion brand, we are looking for their future E-Commerce Manager. A strong personality with an entrepreneurial spirit, a hands-on mentality, and an excellent track record in online sales.

The overarching goal for the E-Commerce Manager is to establish a scalable, internationally successful e-commerce platform within an omnichannel fashion company. The E-Commerce Manager is (and feels) commercially responsible for driving sales through NZA New Zealand Auckland’s online channel, holds P&L responsibility, and is therefore also accountable for achieving the intended revenue and profit growth.

As the driving force behind all growth initiatives, this individual sets the pace, prioritizes tasks, and identifies opportunities to achieve sustainable growth. Due to the relatively small size of the e-commerce team, this manager is also heavily involved in day-to-day operations. Others may view him/her as a hands-on team leader.

Our ideal candidate

The ideal candidate is an E-Commerce Manager who understands both digital services and offline operations. They have a clear vision for the omnichannel strategy and actively promote it. This candidate is a commercial thinker who sees opportunities for online growth within the context of a franchise/retail organization. Someone who strikes the balance between creating urgency for innovation and maintaining a personal focus on guiding and supporting the organization through this process. Connection and communication are essential. The candidate values sharing and gathering information within the company and improving collaboration between departments. They are highly pragmatic, data-driven, and operate autonomously (proactively).

  • University or college degree with at least 5-7 years of relevant work experience, including initial experience in a functional and/or hierarchical leadership role.
  • Proven experience in managing a commercial P&L and achieving growth.
  • Experience in an e-Commerce/omnichannel environment, with knowledge and experience in the fashion industry (including seasonal trends) and Magento as a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and improving an e-Commerce platform, including steering and coordinating with external vendors.
  • Ability to implement structures and processes while understanding that these sometimes take a back seat to business priorities.
  • Strategic and commercial acumen, combined with a hands-on attitude.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to act as a bridge builder, both internally and externally, breaking down silos.
  • An inspiring and coaching managerial style, motivating and guiding the team.
  • Ownership mentality (you treat it as your own business), a team player, and a confident, resilient personality.
  • A strong personality: curious, constructively critical, driven, no-nonsense, proactive, and able to take ownership.
  • Low ego, entrepreneurial mindset, and hands-on mentality.

About NZA New Zealand Auckland

The history of the Dutch brand NZA New Zealand Auckland dates back about sixteen years. Founders Eric Schraven and Laurens van der Kroft set out on their mission to design casual clothing for the adventurous and sporty man. Casual and suitable for outdoor wear. Although the brand has always had big ambitions, it has rarely sought out media attention over the past decades. The product itself tells the story.

This mindset has led to steady organic growth in recent years. NZA New Zealand Auckland combines healthy ambition with a down-to-earth mentality. The brand focuses on a clear target group: the adventurous, sporty man, aged between 40 and 65, who is looking for high-quality, durable, reasonably priced casual clothing that he can wear during daily activities.
